TAEHEE KIM

Project Director

Prestige Architectural Homes began in September 2018, founded by Taehee Kim.
As a DBU-registered builder (DB-U: 46916) with 17 years' experience, Taehee is also a registered builder in New Zealand, a Master Builder Victoria member, an Australian Institute of Architect member, an Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyor member, and a New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyor member. After achieving the National Standard in Traditional Korean construction at the Hanok Academy of Traditional Architecture in Korea in 2010, Taehee furthered his education by completing the National Certificate in Carpentry in New Zealand. This was followed by him becoming a licensed Building Practitioner, and later completing a Diploma in Quantity Surveying. In 2014, he studied a Bachelor of Building Science at the University of Victoria in Wellington, New Zealand. Taehee is majoring Architecture from the University of Melbourne.

Within the construction industry, Taehee has seven years' experience as a carpentry leading hand and spent a year as a construction estimator and another three as contracts administrator for a Tier 1 company before arriving in Melbourne. Here, he gained four and half years of experience working in high-end domestic construction as well as the commercial sector as a contracts administrator and estimator.

THE PRESTIGE PROCESS

PLANNING

The Prestige process begins with planning and drafting phase. Deliberating with the clientele and associated contractors from this early stage of the development ensures a level of control and predictability of the overall project, which in turn results in more reliable estimates. Upon confirmation of the plans, Prestige assesses the expected costs after liaising with contractors and clientele.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

With the expected costs confirmed by all parties involved, Prestige’s contract preparation and coordination team will begin addressing the legal requirements of the project to prevent any costly delays. This is also the stage at which Prestige’s team will finalise the Construction Documentation with clientele and contractors to mitigate amendments to the plans.

CONSTRUCTION

Prestige Architectural Homes will dedicate a project team for each project in the form of a Project Manager and Site Supervisor – all of whom will have been involved in the Planning and Pre-Construction phases. Their involvement in the previous stages will be to ensure all aspects of the construction meet the requirements agreed upon by all parties.
As noted in the Pre-Construction phase, all aspects of the project will be designed to meet the legal requirements and industry practices set by Australian standards. Furthermore, Prestige and its associated trade partners will deliver the project to the highest quality, using the latest tested and proven industry methodologies.

PROJECT DELIVERY

Prestige Architectural Homes employs a stringent quality control system in conjunction with internal risk management protocols to ensure project delivery on time, on point, to budget. Project reviews and streamlined multi-tier approval systems alongside continual overseeing of occupational health and safety guarantees the project is delivered in a safe and professional manner.
